FABFAB started
as a community fabric swap
From 2011 to 2022, I started sewing discarded fabric into weird quilted pieces and forcing them into oval shapes. I stuffed them with fabric scraps, a little cushion as a vessel for fabric trash, like 19th century toys. I wanted to use every part of the fabric and over time, I streamlined the process and became more interested in using natural materials, dyes, and buckwheat hulls as stuffing.
My town doesn't have a craft thrift resource, offering big box craft stores that make it mostly impossible to affordably sew. The community fabric swaps were sweet and fun, people happy to swap materials and stories of what they're working on.
I have since retired making FAB FAB meditation cushions and the like, but maybe one day again I will resurrect the colorful, comfortable, environmentally friendly cushion business! Thank you for all the love and support!
